A central government funded project, the Leigh Town Centre Building Grant Scheme offers match-funded grants to improve shopfronts and buildings in Leigh town centre, making it a more appealing and attractive place to live and work.
PAB Architects was delighted to be appointed to deliver scheme design and architect services for the first project completed under the Leigh Town Centre Building Grant Scheme, repairing and redecorating a shopfront on the local high street, Bradshawgate.
Based in Leigh, Greater Manchester, PAB Architects is proud to contribute to the restoration of our town's aesthetic, bringing a pride to people who live and work nearby while supporting the local economy.
Adding value to Bradshawgate, Leigh, through professional architect services & design schemes
Adding value through our RIBA Chartered Architects services, PAB Architects worked closely with Wigan Council to understand the goals, budget, timeframe and overall vision for this redecorated shopfront in Leigh town centre, enabling us to design a scheme which matched perfectly with our brief.
With Bradshawgate dating back over 100 years, PAB Architects designed this high street shopfront by blending a stylish and contemporary look with a traditional, 1920s style aesthetic, which brings a historic appeal to the high street and keeps Leigh's deep history reflected in the town centre's architecture. PAB Architects identified a final design through ongoing communications with Wigan Council, ensuring we met the expectations and vision for this shopfront to add exceptional value to this local project.
Drilling into every small detail before construction began at 98 Bradshawgate, including the detailed external layout, materials, standards and workmanship expectations, PAB Architects delivered a practical, achievable and tailored package which meets the expectations of Wigan Council and the wider community.

98 Bradshawgate under construction, before PAB Architect's new bespoke shopfront design was installed. PAB Architects' design scheme intended to restore the Victorian-style intricate cravings on the door and window panes, preserving Leigh's unique character and history to improve its aesthetic.

Completed restoration of Leigh's Tea Room & Community Hub's beautiful shopfront on Bradshawgate, Leigh. PAB Architects is delighted with this completed project, bringing history and local pride back into our town centre in Leigh, in Greater Manchester.
Design that creates spaces our Greater Manchester community is proud to call 'home'
Wigan Council's Facebook announcement post, promoting the transformation of Leigh's Tea Room & Community Hub's shopfront, quotes owner Val Hogan, who says:
"We have had lovely feedback and lots of people coming to visit us. The unique touches and attention to detail are fabulous, and it feels like there is quite a bit of excitement on Bradshawgate now that the regeneration project is starting.”
PAB Architects is delighted to contribute towards the Leigh Town Centre Building Grant Scheme, helping to improve the look and feel of our historic town centre and providing a space which residence can be proud to call 'home'.
