PAB Architects are moving from their Renaissance Studios, Brewery Lane, to a prestigious self designed office block Renaissance Studio's 1 Derby Street close to the town centre.

The move in July will give the expanding staff all the latest facilities in which to work on their wide ranging scope of design services.

The practice, headed by director Paul A Baines, employs eight highly-qualified architects and technical staff and three support administrative staff, who are looking forward to the new and exciting project opportunities ahead.

The company prides itself on adding value through design and on fast, efficient, personal and professional services. It was formed by principal Paul, who has a BA honours degree, a Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture and full Chartership of the Royal Institute of British Architects, after four years experience working with the leading Manchester firm, the Fairhurst's Design Group.

He formed P A Baines Architects in July 1992 and advanced the company to Limited status in 1999.
Work focuses on industrial and commercial projects and has included pharmaceutical laboratories, calibration and textile testing laboratories, commercial and speculative offices, premises for manufacturing and warehousing.

Staff have also been responsible for the design of radiator production factories and engineering workshops, schools and learning centres and secure cash handling and banking facilities.

Residential and housing projects for major house builders and private commissions for individual's clients have also been well received.

Local examples of work have included contracts for Ingersol Rand Co Ltd, Hindley Green, and Jim Stones Coaches, Leigh, among any others. The company also works in association with Wigan MBC.

The scope of services on offer includes planning consultancy , feasibility studies and scheme design layouts, grant applications where appropriate, applications for planning and building regulation approvals, specialists design and production information drawings and specifications, project planning, tendering, cost advice and monitoring, co-ordination of building operations on site, contract administration through to completion of work.
